When the Tour de Force starts, it'll be 10 years since I graduated from University. During my time as a student I did a lot to keep active, but since then, things have really slipped. Recently, I've been making a concerted effort to get my fitness back on track, and took part in the Great North Run, so when the opportunity to take part in the Tour de Force came along, I jumped at the chance. It's a huge challenge and there's certainly no shirking this time!
I am genuinely excited at the prospect of taking part in the Tour de Force and doing my bit for a great cause. I have watched the Tour de France since I was a kid and it's such an iconic event. Never did I imagine I'd be covering the same route! I'm going to be taking part in the final stages, including the iconic ride up the Alpe D’Huez, so as hard as it might be, the thought of getting to the finishing line that I've watched on TV for so many years will inspire me.
